Where is it from?

“Chinese coffee. Really? “

Yes, of course!

Once the Yunnan coffee we managed to get was held up by those who knew their coffee beans, people’s attitudes began to change rapidly. Sometimes at first, people who try these coffees are often obviously surprised … then curious … finally, change wholeheartedly.

China’s specialty coffee-more specifically, the Yunnan region-has begun to rival coffee from traditional cultivation areas in America and Africa. They are getting better every year.

Far-sighted farmers and producers are making full use of existing mature varieties and adopting better and more mature processing technologies. At the same time, they waited patiently for newly planted typing cards, bourbon (red and yellow), pacabra and even geisha to join the ranks they had carefully cultivated in the past few years.

In the next few years, we expect that the attitude of the global coffee industry will undergo a major shift to Southeast Asia, a beautiful and rich region.

Fuyan

This super clean and invigorating offering comes from seven-year-old trees, shade-grown in parts of this co-operative farm which produces only eight tons of speciality coffee per annum.

This is a co-operative genuinely dedicated to improving the quality of the coffee they grow in this fertile and beautiful land. Spurred on by a handful of farmers who have long seen the potential of consistently well-processed and carefully sorted cherry, there is a real passion here to push the boundaries year after year. This is the perfect time to get involved with speciality coffee from these farms, it’s the first season where they’re regularly breaking through the 84 / 85 point mark and, with some of the innovations we’ve seen on the ground, it’s only going to get better.

Flavour

It is roasted to a light/medium profile with flavour notes of golden raisin, plum, toffee, pear and grape.
