Please prepare the necessary documents before departure: adults must bring their ID cards; children under 16 should bring a household registration booklet or birth certificate; those who have not yet received their ID card may use the application receipt to obtain a temporary ID at the airport. Yunnan has many high-altitude areas (especially Shangri-La), so travelers with heart disease, hypertension, or other underlying conditions should proceed with caution. Prepare medication for altitude sickness in advance and avoid strenuous activities or excessive alcohol consumption. Because of large temperature differences between day and night, bring light jackets, windbreakers, and warm clothing; cold-weather coats will be provided for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain visit. Sun protection and mosquito repellent are essential due to strong UV radiation, and comfortable, breathable walking shoes are recommended.
Transportation is centrally arranged in Kunming, and short waits may occur during peak seasons. The high-speed train from Lijiang back to Kunming is unguided; during peak times, if tickets are unavailable, the transfer may be changed to a coach. Tickets for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain cable car must be booked in advance and cannot be changed or refunded; if adjustments are needed due to force majeure, please follow the guide's arrangement. Tiger Leaping Gorge has steep terrain—pay attention to safety. Popular attractions can be crowded, so keep your belongings secure and avoid remote areas during free time. Local water is slightly acidic, so drinking tea is recommended; when trying local food on your own, choose reputable restaurants and eat according to your digestive tolerance. If the itinerary needs to be adjusted due to special circumstances, please understand that complimentary items cannot be refunded if unused.
Hotel standards in Yunnan may be lower than in major cities, and during peak seasons, hotels of similar levels may be arranged. Please double-check your belongings before checking out. The itinerary passes through multiple ethnic minority areas—respect local customs and follow the guide’s instructions. In Tibetan areas such as Shangri-La, inform the guide immediately if you feel unwell; remember to turn prayer wheels clockwise and follow the rules at cultural experience sites.
On the final day, travelers will be transferred to the visitor center, so it is recommended to book flights departing after 13:00. Please arrive at the airport early to complete check-in procedures. There are no mandatory self-paid activities; optional items in Shangri-La (elevator, boat ride, horseback riding) are voluntary. Local specialties such as jade, Pu’er tea, and gastrodia can be purchased at the visitor center—please shop rationally according to your needs.
