Yunnan’s wild mushroom season begins

With a great variety of edible wild mushrooms tantalizingly appearing at the Zhuanxin Wet Market in Kunming, Yunnan province on June 20, the season for mushroom eating has finally arrived.
Affected by the severe drought that swept across Yunnan in recent months, the time when fresh mushrooms are available this year has been delayed for nearly 20 days, compared with the past.
But as the raining season comes, more kinds of mushrooms with much lower prices are expected to be seen in the weeks to come.
The peak of wild mushroom selling will be witnessed between July and August.
