The 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) is going on nowadays in Kunming, Yunnan Province. And here are the highlights and new pavilions at this year’s trade fair.

Keyword: 17 pavilions, 20 top exhibitors 

Themed “a better gateway and powerhouse for shared development and prosperity,” the SSACEIF covers around 170,000 square meters, with 7,500 booths set up in 17 pavilions.

The 2019 SSACEIF brings in exhibitors from 74 countries, regions and international organizations worldwide, including 20 of the worlds’ top 500 companies. 14 high-end forums are staged in Kunming, the host city.

Keyword: 5G network

At present, 14 trial 5G base stations have been built near the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center, offering sound 5G network service.

In the 7th pavilion, a 5G experience area was set up, where visitors can learn more about Yunnan’s digital economy, smart travel, e-commerce and government apps.

Why is Feilai  Monastery So Special?

Feilaisi Monastery is a place for Tibetans to pay homage to the sacred mountains. The monastery also serves as a center for many of the activities and festivals held by local Buddhists. Facing the main peak of the Meili Snow Mountain – Kawagebo Peak, it is famous for its viewing deck for amazing scenes of the sun rising over snow covered mountains. Most travelers and photo-lovers choose to gather in this location also for the convenient parking and accommodations.

Where is Feilai  Monastery – Location

Feilaisi Monastery is located at the roadside of Yunan-Tibet Highway, 10 kilometers from county seat of Deqin County, Diqing (Shangri-la) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. 

Legend about Feilai Monastery

There is a legend that the monastery was built by a Sakyamuni Buddha who flew here from Tibet. The legend goes like this, the original selected building site for the temple was 2 kilometers away from the present one. All materials had been prepared and piled up on the site. However, the night before the formal construction, main building materials, like pillars and girders were disappeared without any trace. Later, monks found them erecting on the present site in regular; they believed it was arranged by the Buddha, so they changed the site and named the temple as Flying Temple. Today, if you stand in Douwen Village and look across at Feilai Temple, you will notice that the temple does have a tendency to fly.

There is a spring in the front of the pool in Feilai Temple. It’s said that the water has the effect of retaining youthful looks and keeping longevity for most abbots of the temple lived long. So tourists coming here all rush to drink the spring water and also take some bottles for their family.

History and Culture

Feilai Temple was originally built in 1614 during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with a history of 385 years. Covering 1500 square meters, it was built according to the mountain terrain with architecture at random discretion. It has an advantage of a commanding position overlooking the mountain and the village. 

This is the place for Tibetans to pay homage to the sacred mountains and it is said that circumambulators must get the key in Qidengge. Circumambulators who are in inside circumambulation must get the key for the Yongzongbajiu Temple on the bank of the Lancang River as well as the the key in Qidengge. In recent years,various Buddhist activities have been held at the Wulongding Culture Square and Feilai Temple. It is a holy land for vacations, weariness relief, meditation and soul cultivation.

Architecture

The whole temple is consists of Zisun (Descendants) Hall, the Hall of God, Haichao (Sea Tide Hall), Liangxiang (Wing-rooms) Hall, Liang’er (Two Ears) Hall, and Sipei (Side) Hall, which has the characteristics of three religions- Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The buildings are distinctively scattered, with halls and houses echoing with one another.

The most impressive feature lies in the sculpture art of the main construction of Feilai Temple – Haichao Hall. The construction structure of the hall is of a single eave hanging on the top and seven pieces of wood supporting the beam. With a horizontal distance of 3 Jian, the beam is of a clear and regular structure. It is made of a large round piece of wood.

With simple head, the peripheral columns are standing on the Sumeru Throne. Waist engraved with characters, flowers and other embossed designs, beautiful, unique wood carvings under the eave, numerous partition doors in front of the hall and windows with exquisite patterns and experienced craftsmanship.

Base on its terrain, the main hall of Feilai Temple is hewed into a flat and forms a firm and splendid mountain wall. The main sculpture of the hall – the Sculpture of the Haichao Dragon King Sending His Daughter to get Married was carved out of the mountain and rocks. On the left of the sculpture are the Eighteen Arhats with various expressions and gestures, and the characters of the Pilgrimage to the West on the right.

How to Get there?

By scheduled bus: Tourists can take a scheduled bus from Deqin County to Mingyong Village and get off at Feilai Temple. 

By car-rental: Tourists can also rent a car from Deqin County to Feilai Temple. It takes around 20 minutes. 

Best Time to Go

The best time to visit Feilai temple is winter and spring time from January to May. While from October to December is the best time to shoot the golden sunrise of Meli Snow Mountain.

Yubeng Village

Yubeng is a secluded small Tibetan village tucked away at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain in Deqin county, the northwestern corner of Yunnan Province. It is only accessible by foot or horse/mule. But the trip, however arduous, is worth it. Yubeng is divided into an upper and a lower section. Both parts offer fabulous views of the Mei Li Snow Mountains. Lower Yubeng is smaller, quieter and closer to the lakes and waterfalls that you will likely visit during your stay.

Lancang-Mekong River Grand Canyon

It is called the Lancang River after it reaches Changdu. The river runs south until it leaves China at the Nanla Bayout of Yunnan Province and therefrom changes its name from the Lancang River to the Mekong River. The river finally empties into the Pacific Ocean in the south of Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam.

Meili Snow Mountain

Meili Snow Mountain is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. In the 1930s, they were praised by American scholars as the most beautiful mountains in the world. Meili Snow Mountain boasts numerous snow-clad ridges and peaks, thirteen of which are more than 6,000 meters above the sea level. The highest peak Kawagebo, which rises to 6,740 metres, has never been summited.

► Bring enough cash with you for there is no bank and post office around Feilai Temple.

► Tourists can see the sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain from Feilaisi observation deck rather than Feilai Temple.

► The sunrise time at the Feilai Temple is at about 6 am around the summer solstice, and at about 8 am around the winter solstice.

► Only between the lunar mid-July and September can tourists have the opportunity of shooting the scenery of the moon hanging over the Meri Snow Mountain at sunrise.

► If you plan to take the photos of sunrise, know the sunrise time in advance, and keep warm.

Why is Guanglu Ancient Town So Special

Guanglu Ancient Town has the profound cultural accumulation with many ancient buildings and ancient relics. There is Longhua Temple(龙华寺), which was built in the Tianyou Period of the Tang Dynasty(唐朝天佑年间). The main building of the Tribal Command(军民总管府) (one type of the agencies created to administer southwestern aboriginal groups) in Yao’an Road of the Yuan Dynasty is still in existence. the Wenchang Palace of the Qing Dynasty was exquisitely crafted. During the Republic of China, the Gao Xuejun Ancestral Hall(高雪君祠), as a combination of Chinese and Western elements, was built with a unique architectural pattern. The overall layout of the old residential buildings in Beita Street(北塔街) is unique, with  complete structure of “回” character and unique architectural pattern. Guanglu Ancient Town has a long history, with beautiful mountains and rivers, numerous scenic spots and historical sites.

Yao’an Longhua Temple is located in 12 kilometers north of Yaoan County, the foothill of Xishan Mountain, Guanglu Town. The shape of the Xishan Mountain is like a dragon, and the mountain is known as Longhuashan Mountain(龙华山) by the locals.

Zijiuhai Sea(自久海)
Zijiuhai Sea was built in the early years of Ming Hongwu(明洪武), which has been more than 600 years. It is said that Zijiuhai Sea was excavated by the groups led by Zijiu(自九), the leader of the Yi nationality. There is a peninsula on the east bank of the sea, which is surrounded by the long embankment .

Defeng Temple
Defeng Temple is located in Defeng Road, Dongchuan Town, Yao’an County, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, which is a group of ancient buildings, built in the second year of Ming Yongle(明永乐二年,1404 AD). It is the ancient architectural group of Sanzhongtang(三重堂). It is a contemporary building with the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is the most complete one of the existing Ming Dynasty Dougong buildings(斗拱建筑) in Yunnan Province.

About Ailao Mountain and Rice Terrace

Ailao(哀牢) region is steep with high mountains and deep valley, the elevation changes between 600 meters and 3000 meters, forming a three-dimensional climate of cold temperate zone, subtropic and tropic. The stories of Hani people are hidden in the rolling mountains. Hani people with strong perseverance have created the world-renowned and magnificent rice terrace in Ailao mountain. This land not merely gives Hani people material needs, but also gives us a beautiful place of art.

Hani Rice Terrace in Yuanjiang County

The Yuanjiang(元江) Ailao rice terraces are mainly concentrated in Yangjie Township(羊街乡) and Nanuo Township(那诺乡), among which Nanuo rice terrace is the most spectacular.

1. Nanuo Rice Terraces那诺梯田 

Nanuo rice terraces, located in Yuanjiang county of Yunnan province, the south central of Ailao mountain, are a masterpiece of Hani people. Nanuo rice terraces vary with mountain and terrains, and are suitable for the local conditions. Nanuo rice terraces are grand and magnificent, stretching throughout the whole south central Ailao mountains. They are the gateway of the Hani rice terraces in Yunnan. Departing from Nanuo Rice Terrace, all the way towards south, you will open the gate to Honghe County Rice Terraces, Yuanyang Rice Terraces and Lvchun Rice Terraces. The main scenic spots of Nanuo Rice Terrace include A Lang Bang Ke(阿郎邦克), Village Affection(山寨情), Terraces Family(梯田人家), Shuangru Terrace(双乳田), Damang(打芒) and Mailong(麦拢), etc. If you drive up the winding mountain road and enter the deep Ailao mountain, the vast terraces will appear in front of you, which can make you suddenly enlightened. It is like you get into another world. This is Nanuo Rice Terrace, the gateway of the Hani rice terraces. It is also the first stop to enter the world heritage core reserve.

2. Yangjie Rice Terraces羊街梯田

There is a place named Yangjie Township(羊街乡) in Yuanjiang County of Yunnan Province, is the habitation of Yeche People(叶车人 A branch of Hani minority). Yangjie Township is located in the Ailao Mountain. With high mountain and deep valley, as well the altitude changes between 600 meters and 3000 meters, Ailao mountain forms a three-dimensional climate of cold temperate zone, subtropic and tropic, brings abundant rainfall and spectacular cloud sea, as well as moistens the magnificent rice terraces in the Ailao Mountain. Yangjie rice terraces wind and stretch along the mountain, tier upon tier, like silver staircases, connecting several mountains together. The rice terraces are the most beautiful scenery here.

Best Time to Visit

Although Ailao Rice Terrace scenery in Yuanjiang County are different in four seasons, November to the following April is the best time to visit the rice terraces. Whether you can capture sunrise, sunset and cloud sea landscape depends on the weather during that time. Therefore, if you have high requirements for photography, you can reserve enough time to stay there.

How to Get There

If you want to go to Ailao Rice Terrace in Yuanjiang County, you have to go to Yuanjiang County of Yuxi first. When you are there in Yuanjiang county, you will transfer there to Yangjie Township(羊街乡) and Nanuo Township(那诺乡). You can choose to take regular bus or minibus from Yuanjiang county to Yangjie Township and Nanuo Township.

1. Ailao Rice Terrace in Yuanjiang County is high in elevation, ultraviolet ray is strong on sunny days, you’d better bring sun cream. sunglasses, sun hat and other sunscreen products.

2. With large temperature difference between daytime and night, it is easy to develop a cold, therefore, you are suggested to bring coats and some cold medicine.

3. Compared with Honghe Hani Rice Terrace, Ailao Rice Terrace in Yuanjiang County is remote, not many people are familiar with it. However, like Honghe Hani Rice Terrace, the beauty of the Ailao rice terraces is pure, they are the painstaking efforts of Hani people for hundreds of years.

Why is Zixi Yi Ethnic Village So Special

Zixi Yi Village, in Zixi Town, Chuxiong City, is an immigrant village. In 1994, it relocated here from Qianliangqiao Village Committee in Lvhe Town(吕合镇钱粮桥村委会) due to supporting the construction of Xijinghe Reservoir(西静河水库), a national key project. It is located in the beautiful national forest park, at the foot of Zixi Mountain in the provincial scenic spot, 12 kilometers from the city center. The village has 151.5 mu(unit of measurement, 1 mu=0.667 ha) of cultivated land, including 41.5 mu of paddy fields and 110 mu of dry land. There are 80 households with 319 people, including 303 Yi people, accounting for 95% of the total population. It is the Yi ethnic village, which is the closest to the capital of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture and the most completed preservation of the traditional culture of Yi people.

Where is Zixi Yi Ethnic Village

Zixi Yi Village is located in Zixi Mountain, Zixi Town, Chuxiong City, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is 12 kilometers away from the city center. In 2013, it was built into a special tourist attraction in Yunnan, and it is known as “the beautiful village of Yunnan” and “the First Yi Village in China”.

How to Get There

After arriving at Chuxiong City, it is very convenient to get to Zixi Yi Village. Taxi  or car rental is the best way to get there, which takes about half a hour.

Yiren Ancient Town is an outcome of modernization, built in 2005.  As the core of Yi culture, it is integrated into the Yi dynamic museum of Chinese traditional architectural culture, regional folk culture and leisure culture. The collision between modernization and ethnic culture has spawned Yiren Ancient Town. Yiren Ancient Town imitated the building groups of Ming Qing built in small towns in the south of Yangtze river, clean, tidy and elegant. 

Chuxiong Confucius Temple
Chuxiong Confucius Temple is located in Lucheng Primary School, Middle Street, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province. Chuxiong Confucius Temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty, it was relocated in the Ming Dynasty. Chuxiong was located at the important site of the Southern Silk Road. In 1987, the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government designated Chuxiong Confucius Temple as provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit.

Wanjiaba Ancient Tombs
The Wanjiaba Ancient Tombs are located on the banks of the Qinglong River, 3 km south of Chuxiong City. They are the ancient tomb sites of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. They have a history of more than 2,000 years.

Futa Pagoda Park
Futa Pagoda Park is located in Dongshan Mountain, Lucheng, Chuxiong City, donated by social members who are mobilized by the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Chuxiong Prefecture, which was built in the ancient pagoda site of the Ming Dynasty (later destroyed).

The 2019 Shangri-La Horse Racing Festival, also known as the first tourism and culture festival of the place, was unveiled in Shangri-La, northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, on June 7.

It is a crucial event celebrated annually among Tibetan and other ethnic populations in the area.

Athletes of not merely horse racing, but also archery and crossbow from around the country have delved into this 14-day-long celebration.

Meanwhile, a variety of traditional arts and skills are on display during the festival.

Caicun Village

Cai Village(才村) is located in the east of Dali Ancient Town in Dali City, Yunnan Province, on the west bank of Erhai Sea. It has a coastline of more than 3 kilometers. The Bai people here lived on fishing for generations. The village is adjacent to the Erhai Lake and has been transformed into the Erhai Wetland Park by the government. Relying on natural beauty and humanistic aura, the village has more than 120 kinds of inns and over 20 restaurants. It is the largest tourist scenic spot in terms of Bai village around the Erhai Lake, and it is also the natural original village that receives the most tourists.

1. Take the No.2 bus in the North Gate of Dali Ancient Town and take of at terminal station.

About Nie Er

Nie Er聂耳, whose original hometown is Yuxi, was born in Kunming in 1912. He is a famous Chinese musician composing the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It is great pity that he was drowned when swimming in  Japan in 1935.

Nie Er, who grew up poor and had deep feelings for the laboring masses, wrote 37 revolutionary songs in his limited 23-year life. His series of works are the products of the people’s revolution led by the communist party. Nie Er opened up China’s new music road, he was the music pioneer of the Chinese proletarian revolution.

About the Former Residence of Nie Er 

Former residence of Nie Er was built in the late Qing dynasty by Nie Liandeng聂连登, Nie Er’s great-grandfather, and left to Nie Er’s father Nie Hongyi聂鸿仪. In the 28th year of the reign of emperor Guangxu光绪(in 1902), Nie Hongyi went to Kunming to practice medicine. The house was left to Wang Jingzhen王静珍, the sister-in-law of Nie Er. In 1927, after he graduated from Junior Middle School, Nie Er returned to Yuxi with his mother, Peng Jikuan彭寂宽, he reviewed his lessons here from the 22nd day of the 6th lunar month to the 10th day of the 7th lunar month.

In September 1984, the former residence of Nie Er was published by the people’s government of Yuxi as a municipal key cultural relic protection unit. In February 1992, the people’s government of Yuxi city restored the former residence of Nie Er, covering an area of more than 1,500 square meters. It is composed of memorial area, green area and music activity area. There is Nie Er statue in the courtyard. In this year, the government set up management organization and former residence of Nie Er opened to public officially. In November 1998, the government of Yunnan province announced Nie Er’s former residence as the fifth batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units.

The 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) opened this morning (June 12) in Kunming, Yunnan Province.

With the theme of “a better gateway and powerhouse for shared development and prosperity,” the SSACEIF covers an exhibition area of 170,000 square meters. 

Around 7,500 booths were set up in 17 pavilions at this year’s trade fair, including the Pavilion of Green Energy, the Pavilion of Green Food, the Pavilion of Biomedicine and General Health, the Pavilion of Culture and Tourism, the Southeast Asia Pavilion, the South Asia Pavilion, the Pavilion of Other Countries, the Taiwan Pavilion, the Pavilion of B&R Investment and Cooperation, and others.

Sri Lanka serves as the theme country, while Cambodia is the guest country of honor. Special exhibition areas are designated for the honored countries at this year’s trade fair. Representatives of 74 countries and regions and 3,348 enterprises attended the opening. 

A total of 14 high-end forums are staged in Kunming during the 2019 SSACEIF: the 2nd China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, the 17th ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference, the 8th Yunnan-Taiwan Economic Trade and Cultural Conference, the 14th China-South Asia Business Forum, the 3rd China-Southeast Asia Business Forum, the 7th China-South and Southeast Asia Think-Tank Forum, and others.

Why is Laoshan Mountain So Special?

Laoshan Mountain scenic area老山风景区 consists of 42 scenic spots covering an area of 180 square kilometers including Laoshan Mountain老山, Nanwenhe River南温河, Dawangyan大王岩, Xiajinchang下金厂 and Xinzhai Village新寨. The main attractions in Laoshan Mountain include the Site of Laoshan Self-defensive Warfare老山自卫反击战遗址, the Sea of Forest in the Laojun Mountain老君山林海, the marvelous and serene Karst Caves groups, the Cat Jumping Gorge猫猫跳峡谷, the irregularly changing cloud sea, rare plants, and the Tianbao Frontier Trade Port. All in all, the scenic area of the Laoshan Mountain is an ideal place for frontier trade and shopping, tour abroad, scientific and geological researches, and the research for the biodiversity. Laoshan was one of the main positions in the war of self-defense. Nowadays, there are exhibition hall, martyr statues, Maoerdong cave猫耳洞, trenches, lookout post and other facilities built on the main peak. The History and Present of Laoshan Mountain

Laoshan Mountain, located at China-Vietnam Border of Yunnan Province in the southwestern China, is closely linked to northern Vietnam. In the past 10 years from 1979 to 1989, there was a fierce battle between China and Vietnam in the vibrant mountains and jungles, which turned Laoshan Mountain to be a place “famous” of violence and death. And as a result of the battle, Laoshan Mountain who witnessed the victory of Chinese and the loss of Vietnam became a holy place in memory of these heroes sacrificed in the battle. More than 20 years have passed, and now the spirits of these heroes are still in the minds of people living here.

The leftover of the war in Laoshan Mountain has been carefully collated and repaired after the war. The place that once saw the violent and cruel battle has turned into a beautiful and peaceful park for the fighters to rest. There are many inscriptions and sculptures describing the glorious feat of the warriors dedicated to the country.

Under the main peak of Laoshan Mountain, there built a small square where stood a huge statue. Its prototype is called Zhangdaquan张大权, one of the 3000 Chinese soldiers who dedicated to the China-Vietnam war in Laoshan Mountain years ago.

Why is Xianrendong Village So Special?

Xianrendong Village仙人洞村 is a picturesque fairyland in Qiubei County, Southeast of Yunnan included in Puzhehei Scenic Area. It’s a typical Sani撒尼 village with limpid lakes and lush vegetation. “Puzhehei普者黑” is a word from the Yi language which means “a place abundant in fish and shrimps”. The Sani people there claim themselves “Sanipo撒尼人”. They believe they are the descendants of the Sani People who fled from Stone Forest area to Qiubei丘北 Area 400 years ago. The entire village is made up of 173 families or more than 800 villagers. They are Sani people, a branch of the Yi Minority.

Features of Xianrendong Village

As the first ethnic cultural ecological demonstration village in Yunnan province, Xianrendong Village仙人洞村 is mainly responsible for the protection and development of ethnic culture, the improvement of ethnic quality, the cultivation of ethnic culture pillar industries, the injection of new vitality to the tourism industry, making it a major influence within and outside the province and a base and window for world cultural exchanges.

Xianrendong village is an ancient village, which is back against green mountain. Xianren Lake仙人湖 surrounds the village, green like jade, reflecting beautiful isolated peak and primitive dwelling. Rich fish and shrimps swim in the water, water plants swing with the waves. In midsummer, thousand mu of wild lotus are in blossom, blowing in the wind. In the lakeside, there are ten thousand farmland with dark green waves. This is the true life of Sani People撒尼人. They make living by water, work at sunrise, rest at sunset, plant rice seedlings, fish, catch the shrimps, pick lotus seeds, all at ease.

When visitors enter the Yi culture ecological village, they can enjoy the original and authentic ethnic songs and dances, stone worship culture, ethnic customs, ethnic food, ethnic housing, ethnic sacrifice, ethnic sports, and ethnic handicrafts, etc.

Whoever visitors enter the village, Sani people will always give you a bright smiling face. They will treat you the clean and sweet water and ask whether visitors would like to have a try for their bamboo water pipes. They will also warmly introduce you to their customs their legendary stories. If you are interested enough to hear their music, they can also sing accompanied with their unique three-string instrument. They will sing the popular narrative poem, Escape to the Sweet Spot.

Religious Beliefs and Festivals

As other minorities do in Yunnan Province, Sani people believe in animism which makes their traditional festivals mysteriously link to gods and the nature. They deem themselves a nationality that was gave birth by trees. That’s probably why a huge sacred tree is enshrined as the Dragon Tree during their annual Mizhi Festival密枝节. The villagers living in Xianrendong Village are simple, honest and unspoiled. Sani people regulate people’s behavior mainly through the ancient religious activities such as Mizhi festival, a sacrifice to the sacred Dragon Tree.

Hualian Festival花脸节, is a traditional festival of Sani People in Puzhehei or Xianrendong Village. It’s extremely popular and preferred by the young people. During the festival, lard and chimney soot are mixed into paste to be smeared by people to make fun.

The Bimo culture毕摩文化 of Yi minority is extensive and profound. Bimo毕摩 is an intellectual of the Yi minority, who has created the Yi minority scripture. The scriptures of Yi people are important tools for the practice of religious activities. Perhaps because of the escape, the Yi people’s scriptures of Xianrendong Village have been lost, and their classics are handed down by chanting from generations to generations. They believed that if there was no scripture, there would be no communication between man and god, and religious activities would not be carried out.

About Sani People

Women in Xianrendong Village love to wear ethnic costumes. They are able to spin their own threads, and all of them are good at needlework. Their clothes are not the same as those Sani families in Shilin area. The “high mountain and flowing water” picture on their headdress seems like the beautiful and colorful butterfly. The women here have to change their beautifully embroidered flower sashes seven times in their lifetime. There is a bright red embroidered ball hanging on the belt, which is really brilliant.

Sani people撒尼人 can sing and dance well. At the tourist season, the villagers will be divided into four teams to perform excellent show for the visitors every night. They dance enthusiastically, in addition to the three-stringed dance we know, there are a lot of folk dances.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Xianrendong Village is from May to October, and especially in July and August. May to October is on season. At that time, the lotus flowers are in full blossom. And the local “Painted Face Festival(Hualian Festival)”, the local busiest and happiest festival, usually celebrates around July 18, lasting for about one month.
