Tacheng Town is located in the northeast of Baohe Town, the seat of Weixi County. To the east, it faces the Wujing Township and Shangjiang Township of Shangri-La City across the Jinsha River. To the west and southwest, it borders Kangpu Township, Baijixun Township and Pantiangge Township. To the north, it adjoins Tuoding Township and Xiaruo Township of Deqin County.
