Dajie Subdistrict (大街街道) is located in the southern part of Jiangchuan District (江川区), Yuxi City (玉溪市), and serves as the main urban area of the district. It borders Xiongguan Township (雄关乡) and Luju Town (路居镇) to the east, Nagu Town (纳古镇) and Sijie Town (四街镇) of Tonghai County (通海县) to the south, Jiuxi Town (九溪镇) to the southwest, Qianwei Town (前卫镇) to the northwest, and faces Xingyun Lake (星云湖) to the north.

History and Culture

Dajie Subdistrict (大街街道) has a long history and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of Jiangchuan District (江川区). In December 2001, Cuifeng Township (翠峰乡), Jiangcheng Town (江城镇), and Longjie Town (龙街镇) were dissolved and merged to form Jiangcheng Town (江城镇). In 2011, Dajie Town (大街镇) was reorganized into Dajie Subdistrict (大街街道). The subdistrict covers an area of 98.8 square kilometers, with an urbanized area of 8.4 square kilometers, and governs 13 residential community committees and 2 village committees.
