    July could be named the Mushroom Season of Yunnan Province, as all sorts of wild edible mushrooms come into the market.     Among the mushroom-themed activities, what is the most impressive is the market where assorted mushrooms are sold and bought.

    The wild mushroom trade fair in Yimen County (易门县野生菌交易会) begins in early July each year and lasts for over a month. The exhibition showcases various types of cultivated edible mushrooms. During the trade fair, a wide range of wild mushrooms and mushroom products are displayed and sold, attracting tourists to taste and purchase.     Yimen County, located in the heart of central Yunnan, boasts abundant edible mushroom resources. It produces over 200 types of wild mushrooms, including porcini(牛肝菌), morels(干巴菌), chanterelles(鸡枞), matsutake(松茸), straw mushrooms(青头菌), chicken of the woods mushroom(鸡油菌), and lion's mane mushrooms(虎掌菌). Currently, more than 70 edible varieties have been developed, with an average annual output of around 5,000 tons of wild edible mushrooms. The highest daily transaction volume can reach 200 tons, with the highest daily turnover exceeding 10 million yuan. Yimen County's wild edible mushrooms are renowned for their wide variety, large yield, excellent quality, and delicious taste. Porcini mushrooms are particularly famous for their plump texture and pure, savory flavor, earning Yimen the reputation of "Hometown of Chinese Wild Edible Mushrooms" and "Hometown of Gourmet Wild Edible Mushrooms."Yimen Wild Edible Mushroom Fair in Yuxi (12)

    Since 2005, Yimen has successfully hosted 13 sessions of the "China Yunnan Wild Edible Mushroom Trade Fair," (中国·云南野生食用菌交易会) attracting a total of 2.71 million exhibitors, traders, and tourists from both inside and outside the county. The trade fair has facilitated transactions totaling 14,000 tons of mushrooms. Yimen's status as a trading center and distribution hub for wild edible mushrooms in Yunnan Province has been firmly established.
