Geographical Location

Dabuhong Village (大布红村) is located in Badashao Yi Nationality Township, Qiubei County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It lies to the west of Badashao Township, 15 kilometers away from the township center. The village is bordered by Badashao Village Committee to the east, Li Family Village Committee to the south, Nijiao Township to the west, and Yuezhe Town to the north. The village covers a total area of 65.88 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 1,709 meters.

Cultural and Historical Background

Dabuhong Village has a long history and rich cultural heritage. The name "Dabuhong" is derived from the local Zhuang language, meaning "a village beside a big mountain". Historically, the area has undergone several administrative changes. In 1952, it was established as a township. It was later renamed as a commune in 1961, and then as a production brigade in 1962. In 1984, it was reorganized as a township again, and in 1987, it became an administrative village. Since 2000, it has been known as Dabuhong Village Committee.
