Huke Coffee Manor in Baoshan

Huke Coffee Manor (乎壳咖啡庄园) is located in the scenic area of Xinzai Village (新寨村), Lujiang Town (潞江镇), Longyang District (隆阳区), Baoshan City (保山市), Yunnan Province (云南省), sitting at an elevation of about 1,000 meters. The manor offers panoramic views of the majestic Nujiang River (怒江) and the surrounding coffee plantations. It is a high-end semi-mountain coffee manor hotel, where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the towering mountains and coffee fields.

The name “Huke” derives from the sound “huke” made by the Gibbon (长臂猿) from the Gaoligong Mountain (高黎贡山) when they descend from the mountains to steal high-quality coffee fruits during the harvest season. This inspired the name for the coffee, as well as the logo, which is based on the face of a Gibbon, symbolizing the integration of ecological conservation and coffee culture.

The manor operates under a business model that combines the “Manor + Base”, “Manor + Culture & Tourism”, “Manor + Educational Research”, and “Manor + Coffee Shop” concepts. With an investment of 45 million RMB and a total construction area of 8,000 square meters, the manor features high-end facilities such as boutique Dai-style guesthouses (傣楼民宿), star-view rooms (星空观景房), and tent hotels (帐篷酒店). It has significantly contributed to the development of the local tourism industry, providing more upscale accommodation options in the region, thereby promoting the upgrade of the Lujiang Bazi (潞江坝) wellness tourism industry.

Since its introduction in 2020, the manor has created over 60 jobs for locals and seasonal work for more than 200 people, contributing significantly to the economic development of over 480 local households, with an average annual income increase of 3,600 RMB per household.

Key Features

Geographical and Agricultural Advantages

The manor benefits from the dry and hot river valley climate of Gaoligong Mountain, with an average annual temperature of 25°C and 700mm of rainfall. This environment produces the unique flavor profile of Baoshan’s small-grain coffee, which is “rich but not bitter, aromatic but not intense, with a slight fruity acidity.”

The core production area spans 13,600 acres, where premium coffee varieties such as Typica and Bourbon are cultivated. The coverage of quality seeds reaches 98%, and modern water and fertilizer integration smart agricultural technology is applied to improve coffee quality.

Integrated Industry Model

Huke Coffee Manor employs the “Manor + Base + Cultural Tourism + Educational Research” business model. It has developed boutique Dai-style guesthouses, star-view rooms, and other facilities, benefiting 480 local coffee farmers with an average income increase of 3,600 RMB per year.

Through various events like the Coffee Tourism Cultural Festival and Brewing Competitions, the manor promotes its brand and has developed more than 10 derivative products, including roasted beans and freeze-dried coffee powder. The online annual transaction volume exceeds 10 million RMB.

The manor’s design was created by the Naluo Design Team (纳楼设计团队), blending Dai architectural styles (歇山顶, 凤凰纹饰) with international coffee culture. The design makes use of volcanic stones, bamboo, and other materials to create a natural, eco-friendly space that complements the surrounding coffee terraces and tropical vegetation.
