Lawu Yi Ethnic Township (拉乌彝族乡) is under the jurisdiction of Binchuan County (宾川县), Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture (大理白族自治州), Yunnan Province (云南省). It is located in the southeastern part of Binchuan County, at the junction of two prefectures and three counties. It borders Sanchahe Township (三岔河乡) of Dayao County (大姚县), Chuxiong Prefecture (楚雄州) to the east, Midian Town (米甸镇) of Xiangyun County (祥云县) to the south, and is adjacent to Zhoucheng Town (州城镇) and Pingchuan Town (平川镇) to the west. The administrative area covers 231 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the registered population was 10,605.

In 1949, it belonged to Exi Township (峨溪乡), Midian District (米甸区), Xiangyun County (祥云县). In 1988, the district system was abolished and Lawu Yi Ethnic Township (拉乌彝族乡) was established. As of October 2021, it governs 7 administrative villages, and the township government is located at No. 7, Biji Street (碧鸡街), Biji Village (碧鸡村).
