Development History
On November 23, 2022, Rongkangda Coffee Manor was included in the first batch of Yunnan’s Boutique Coffee Plantations, as one of the representative plantations from Lincang City (临沧市). The selection was based on the Yunnan Agricultural Modernization Three-Year Action Plan, with a focus on plantations that possess the capability to showcase the full industry chain and integrate cultural tourism.
Manor Construction
Located 13 kilometers from Shuangjiang (双江), at an altitude of 1,200 meters, the manor is situated in an ideal climate zone for coffee cultivation with mist-covered mountainous conditions. The core plantation area uses water and fertilizer integration technology and mainly grows Geisha (瑰夏) and other premium coffee varieties. It is supported by a local coffee processing plant for fresh fruit processing. The tourism facilities include the Yunding Zhuchao Tea Manor Hotel (云顶筑巢茶庄园酒店), Coffee Culture Experience Hall (咖啡文化体验馆), and Qixingchi Scenic Area (七星池景观区), forming a service system that combines accommodation, sightseeing, and educational experiences.
Industry Development
Through a model of “free seedling supply + technical guidance + guaranteed purchase”, the manor collaborates with 3 villages and 14 local community groups, helping to develop over 2,000 acres of coffee plantations. In 2025, the average income per acre for cooperative farmers reached 10,000 to 50,000 RMB, with farmers such as Li Jinyu (李金鱼) growing 10 acres of coffee and earning over 50,000 RMB annually. The manor has a professional team that provides full-process technical support, helping farmers increase the processing rate of premium coffee fruit to over 85% by 2024.
Cultural and Tourism Integration
As part of the Shanghai-Yunnan Cooperation (沪滇协作) cultural and tourism project, the manor has designed a complete experience route, including:
-
Coffee garden visits.
-
Coffee processing experiences.
-
Coffee cupping and tasting.
-
Cultural explanations.
Visitors can engage in coffee picking, roasting DIY, and hand-drip coffee making. In 2024, the manor received over 200,000 visitors, making it a popular “coffee + tourism” destination in Southwest Yunnan (滇西南).
Quality Control
The manor has established a complete quality control system from planting to roasting. After harvesting the fresh fruit, the manor completes the initial processing within 4 hours. The coffee beans are roasted using Probat machines from Germany, with precise curve control. By 2024, the products received Rainforest Alliance certification, and multiple single-origin coffees scored 85 points or higher in international evaluations.
Social Impact
Through land transfer, seasonal employment, and order-based purchasing, the manor has provided over 200 seasonal jobs, helping 37 poverty-stricken households achieve stable income increases. In 2025, the manor will collaborate with Yunnan Agricultural University (云南农业大学) to establish a coffee research and training base, with more than 500 farmers trained annually. The manor’s development is recognized as a model for rural revitalization in Shuangjiang County (双江县), and its successful model is being promoted in other coffee-producing regions of Yunnan.
