English Name: Sinong Village in Deqin County, Diqing
Sinong Village is located in Deqin County, Diqing Prefecture, at an altitude of about 2300m. Driving from Deqin County to Feilai Temple, You can overlook the full view of Sinong Village which is near Lancang River. “Sinong” means “The Buddha Light Illuminating” in Tibetic language. Sinong Village is at the foot of Kawagarbo mountain where nearly 60 Tibetan households inhabit. People support them by farming and grazing in the quiet and insular village.

Hikers can trek along the path at the back of the mountain, head to the Sinong Gorge, then walk into Sinong Glacier which sits between Kawagarbo mountain(6749m) and Shennv Mountain(6379m). Mingyong Glacier spreads on the range of Kawagarbo mountain. Sinong Glacier is at the right of Mingyong Glacier and it’s the extremely rare mountain glacier at an low altitude and latitude in monsoon area. The glacier may crash in Summer when the temperature go up.
