The Molangshan Tunnel on the Yuxi-Mohan Railway in Yuanjiang County, built by the Fifth Bureau Corporation of China Railway, holed through recently. This progress lays a solid foundation for the steady progress of the entire China-Laos Railway.

The Yuxi-Mohan Railway connects Yuxi in southwestern China’s Yunnan province, with Mohan on the China-Laos border. This important section of the China-Laos Railway extends for 508.53 kilometres. The Molangshan Tunnel in Yuanjiang County has a total length of 3,457 metres and an underground depth of up to 615 metres. In its vicinity are the Rehai hot springs, which maintain temperatures of 90 degrees Celsius. It is more than 40 degrees Celsius inside the tunnel, posing a formidable challenge for construction workers.

Since construction started in 2016, the Fifth Bureau Corporation of the China Railway has overcome multiple difficulties including gushing water, mud bursting, large land deformations and particularly high geothermal temperatures to ensure the safe and steady progress of the project.

Yuanyang is a county under Honghe Prefecture in southeastern Yunnan Province. 
Yuanyang has quite several bus stations, however, only two of them are well known. 
One is Yuanyang Bus Station, or Yuanyang Nasha Bus Station (南沙汽车站).

Yuanyang Nasha Bus Station (南沙汽车站), which is located at No. 121, Renmin Road in Nansha Town of Yuanyang downtown (元阳县南沙镇人民路121号).

Another one is Yuanyang Xinjie Bus Station (元阳新街汽车站) which is located in Xinjie Town. 
Nansha is where the new Yuanyang county town located and Xinjie represents the old Yuanyang county town. So Yuanyang (Nansha) Bus Station is bigger and busier than Yuanyang Xinjie Bus Station as more people are moving to the new county town to live, work, study and etc.

However, if you are coming to Yuanyang to visit the famous terraced field, we would advise you go to Yuanyang Xinjie Bus Station as it has the shortest distance to the tourist attraction mentioned.
Distance between Yuanyang (Nansha) Bus Station and Yuanyang Xinjie Bus Station is about 30 km and the two places are connected by the shuttle bus.
So far, neither Yuanyang Bus Station nor Yuanyang Xinjie Bus Station has sold its tickets online and passengers will have to purchase tickets directly from ticket windows of the bus station.

Public Transport Guide:

City bus routes 2 and 3 stop at Jinghong Bus Station. Visitors can also take taxi, ride bikes or walk there depending on which way is convenient.

Destination Guide:

 As the largest bus station in Xishuangbanna, Jinghong Bus Station has international, interprovincial, provincial and prefectural traffic services.
On International level, it has buses for Vangvieng, Vientiane, Luang Prabang and etc in Laos.
On interprovincial level, it has buses for Chengdu, Chongqing, Yibin, Zigong, Zizhong, Neijiang, Nanning, Baise, Yongzhou, Longcheng, Qiyang and etc.
On provincial level, it has buses for Kunming, Pu’er, Mengzi, Yuxi, Lijing, Qujing, Xuanwei, Dali, Baoshan, Jianshui, Chuxiong, Heqing, Tengcheng, Ruili and etc.
On prefectural level, it has buses for Mengla, Menghai, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, just to name a few.

Dali Bus Station, also known as Dali East Bus Station or Dali New Bus Station, is the main bus station in Xiaguan Town of Dali. It locates 400 meters northeast to Dali Railway Station, 18 kilometers northwest to Dali Old Town or 1 kilometer north to Erhai Lake.
The bus station is well maintained with clean and tidy travel environment. It has restaurant and shops inside the station. Services such as left luggage, checked baggage, free boiled water, free Wi-Fi access and etc are also provided.

Xingsheng Bus Station operates more than 20 routes with a fleet of 300 buses running for the southwest places to Dali. Xingsheng Bus Station is another popular bus station in Xiaguan town of Dali. Its former address is at Xingsheng Road. On April 18th, 2016, the former Xingsheng Road Bus Station was closed by the authority to ease the traffic congestion and the new Xingsheng Bus Station was then opened on April 19th 2016 at No. 36, South Ring Road, Xiaguan Town on the site of Dali Southwest Bus Station that’s very close to Fengche (Windmill) Square.
