Traditional villages, as the most important cultural carrier of Chinese profound history and traditional culture, maintains the most intense “nostalgia” of the nation. As the common people pay great attention to protect the traditional villages, it will help government to win the trust of people by supporting them on this issue. Especially, under the background of urbanization, supporting the protection of traditional villages embodies the government function of public finance and has important practical significance. Firstly, it shows us the public good properties of the financial expenditure; Secondly, it is a good attempt to promote the integration of special funds; Lastly, it will improve the production and living environment of traditional villages.

The residential houses of Hani people mainly are floor hencoop house and soil palm house. Hencoop house shapes like an inverting hencoop. The wall is made from soil, with four pillars supporting the central beam, and bamboo poles supporting roof bow, and thatched roof.
Hencoop house is the common housing for Pu’er’s Hani national minority and Yuanyang’s Hani national minority. The material and low height bring the house a strong wind-resistance, an increase of indoor temperature, fire-resistance, and making it warm in winter and cool in summer.
The middle and south parts of Yunnan are conspicuous and fascinating. Crafty clouds in A’Wa Mountain, Ailao Mountain, Wuliang Mountain; golden and green colors in Chuanhe Dam, Jinggu Dam, Simao Dam, Menglang Dam. Soil palm houses, hencoop houses, bamboo houses, all make it a warm dreamland.
Hani villages are often built halfway up the mountainside or gentle slope area, surrounded by lush trees and streams all year around. In the past, their residential houses mainly were floor hencoop houses and soil palm houses. With the integration and development of culture, both are gradually replaced by the tile-roofed houses, and some are even replaced by the flat top houses with concrete reinforcement.

Located at 101°41′E23°26′N, Mojiang is passed through by the Tropic of Cancer. Every year on the day of summer solstice, sunlight directly shines at the Tropic of Cancer. At 13:15, a spectacular astronomical phenomenon of “Sun in the middle of the sky with no shadow of any standing pole” will be formed in Mojiang. At that moment, as long as you stand on the Tropic of Cancer in Mojiang, your inseparable shadow will be totally under your feet.
On the day of summer solstice, go for a close date with the sun in Mojiang, observe the astronomical wonder of standing poles with no shadow, and witness the beautiful moment of sun turn-back! This day is not only a day to witness the magical landscape, but also a day when the Hani people in Mojiang take the holy flame and offer sacrifices to the Sun God to pray for days of happiness and well-being.
At 13:30, the flame taking ceremony starts. After three trombone sounds, 8 “guards” led by the “Mo-Phi” step onto the flame taking tower. The “Mo-Phi” holds with the holy water in his left hand and leaves in his right hand, and recites praying words while sprinkling the holy water. The Hani holy saintess ignites incense, and put tea, wine, cakes, Baba (cake or pie in Yunnan dialect) and other sacrifices offerings to worship the heaven god, the sun god, and the fire god. Then, the headman of Hani people with a red rooster in his hands leads Hani twins into the holy land, uses the long torch in his hand to take the flame and passes it to all people in the group. After the completion of the ceremony, a carnival of singing and dancing comes.
