    • Just a few kilometers outside of town, the river widens and flows through dramatic, deep gorges.
    • The winding road follows the river’s course, with occasional landslides blocking the path. The scenery is breathtaking, especially after rainfall, but it also increases the risk of delays and landslides.
  • The Jewel of Nujiang Gorge
    • The most breathtaking part of the Nujiang Gorge begins in Binzhongluo, the northernmost town, where you’ll find the essential attractions.
    • Hiking is the best way to experience the stunning landscape, with most tourists taking around 2.5 hours to reach the famous “Tea Horse Caravan Route.” For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, renting a mini bus at Bingzhongluo town is an excellent alternative.

  • En route to the “Tea-Horse Caravan Route,” stop by the century-old Zhongding Catholic Church, built by a French missionary.
  • Another highlight is Shimen Pass, followed by Wengli (also known as Wuli), a stunning slope along the riverbank.
