In 2008,from November 17 to 20, Xi Jinping(习近平),then Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and Vice President of China,had did research in Yunnan province.On 18 November,Xi Jinping（习近平） came to Simao district of Puer city（普洱市思茅区） to understand the situation of tea-growing. It shows that President Xi’s great bosom of caring about people and feeling the suffering of them. The deep concern of President Xi for the people became a promise, he said “I promise I’ll come again,I wish all of you’ll live a batter life at that time.” Afterwards,people called the road which President Xi get by as”Dream of The Road（梦之路）”.

The Dream of The Road（梦之路） is at the right side of the Ask Teahouse（问茶楼）, it is a tourist trail in the ten-thousand mu tea garden which was paved with red brick.The Yunnan big leaf species tea（云南大叶种茶） were planted on both sides of the road, Yunnan（云南）’s favorable natural condition cultivates high yield and outstanding quality big leaf species tea. The most attracting scenery on the Jingmai Mountain is the 1000-year-old and 10,000-mu tea woods, which is the largest and best preserved artificial cultivation ancient tea woods in the Lancang River basin with the most typical tea woods landscape, richest culture connotation and most harmonious human-land relationship. It is renowned as a “natural museum of tea trees” by domestic and foreign experts. Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Plantation Garden, covering an area of 28,000 mu and a picking-up area of 10,003 mu therein, is mainly located in the Mangjing Villager Committee and the Jingmai Villager Committee.

The best place to have a close view of the ancient tea plantation garden is Dapingzhang, where you will feel the light fragrance of tea spreading from the tea trees all over the mountains and plains.

Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Plantation Garden is mainly located in the Mangjing Villager Committee and the Jingmai Villager Committee, which both have jurisdiction over multiple natural villages. The former mainly consists of Bulang people and the latter mainly consists of Dai people. Here, traditional quiet ancient villages one by one are scattered and hidden in the mountain woods. The Wengji Bulang Ancient Village, the Nuogan Dai Water Village, both preserve their traditional local-style dwelling houses building. The village planning and architectural design are integrated with the belief system and traditional convention of the national minorities.

> Music town

Getting down from the Jingmai Mountain, we drove for the Haleja Country Music Town, i.e. the Laodabao Villager Group of Menggen Village, Jiujing Township, Lancang County. The feature of “people start to sing as soon as they can speak, and start to dance as soon as they can walk” for the ethnic minorities is fully inherited in this pure Lahu nationality village. People here in this fortress at any age are good at both singing and dancing, they are experts in Lusheng dance, swing dance, Acapella, and the performance of singing and playing guitar.

> Xuanfu ritual dances. The official orchestra of Dai c[FS:Page]hieftain, with most of its performances in instrumental ensemble, combines the instrumental playing forms with singing, accompanied by dances like Wax Trip Dance, Long Fingernail Dance and Peacock Dance.

> Menglian General Buddhist Temple. A reconstruction on the original site of Lower Town Buddha Temple in Nayun Ancient Town, it presents a complete and traditional appearance of “three towns and two stockades” of the Nayun Ancient Town.

> Mengsuo Longtan Lake. Mengsuo Longtan Lake, located in the south Ximeng county, is a tropical rain forest natural lake. The green peak and clear water reflect each other, the lake and the mountains constitute an extremely attractive scenery. > Mysterious rock paintings. Wa people do not have their own writings, thus its past was submerged in the long course of history. To probe the history of Ximeng’s Wa people, we walked into the mysterious Muyiji Holy Valley. The major spots in the scenic area is the “encounter with five gods”, “rock painting”, “Muyiji god statue”, “human head stakes”, “evil turning cliff”, “legend of sacrificial altar”, “legend of two banyan trees grown into one”, and etc., the rock painting – no one knows when it was painted – is a mute story teller of the Wa people’s history.

> Likan Waterfall and Yongkeluo in the beautiful A’wa Mountain. Likan Waterfall Scenic Spot has the spectacular Likan Waterfall and the Wa people’s rattan rope bridge which is regarded as the earliest ancestor of modern bridges. Yongkeluo Scenic Spot is a theme park demonstrating the Wa people’s wooden drum culture, you can have a look at the wooden drum cluster and the “World Top One Wooden Drum”

There are many taxis at the airport. From Airport to Dali ancient town is about 30 kilometers, the cost is about 90 yuan from Dali airport to Dali old town by taxi.

It is the cheapest but slowest way to get to Dali Old Town from Dali Airport by city bus. Take No. 7 bus from Huaying(华营) stop(4 kilometers from the airport) and get off at Yangbi Lukou Stop(漾濞路口站), totally 17 stops; then take No. 8 bus and get off at the Dali Regent Hotel(Fenghua Xueyue Hotel) stop, totally 27 stops. The whole journey costs 5 yuan and takes about 2.5 hours.

From Dali railway station to Dali Ancient Town is about 17 kilometers, the fare is 50 to 60 yuan by taxi.

a. You can take No.8 bus from Huochezhan(Railway Station) stop and get off at the Dali Regent Hotel(Fenghua Xueyue Hotel) stop, totally 30 stops. It costs 3 yuan and takes about 41 minutes.

b. You can also take Three Pagodas Special Line from Huochezhan(Railway Station) stop and get off at Sanyuejiekou(三月街口) stop, totally 30 stops. It costs 3 yuan and takes about 1.5 hours.

Taxis are easily available at all bus stations in Dali City. The fare is 40-60 yuan(Except Dali Ancient City Passenger Coach Station, because the bus station is close to Dali Ancient Town, it is better to walk or take a bus).

It takes the least time to take No.8 bus. You should get on the bus at Sengongju stop(森工局站) and get off at the Dali Regent Hotel(Fenghua Xueyue Hotel风花雪月酒店) stop, which takes about 33 minutes and costs 3 yuan.

It takes the least time to take No.8 bus. You should get on the bus at North Bus Station stop and get off at the Dali Regent Hotel(Fenghua Xueyue Hotel风花雪月酒店) stop, which takes about 22 minutes and costs 3 yuan.

You can also take No.4 bus from Wanhua Petrol Station stop and get off at Sanyuejiekou(三月街口) Stop, which takes about 26 minutes and costs 3 yuan.

The fastest route is to take No.12 bus and then No.8 bus. You should get on at Fengche Square stop and get off at City Hospital stop, then transfer to No.8 bus at City Hospital stop and get off at the Dali Regent Hotel(Fenghua Xueyue Hotel风花雪月酒店) stop. The whole journey takes about 40 minutes and costs 5 yuan.

Useful Tips

1. The starting price of ordinary taxis in Dali City is 5 yuan/3 km, then 1.4 yuan/km. Metered taxis are relatively inexpensive. However, Taxis from train station, bus terminals and airport to the Dali Ancient Town and some scenic spots are not running the meter and you have to bargain.

2. You’d better ask about the price and tell the destination before taking a taxi to avoid unnecessary trouble.
