In 2003, as part of an administrative reorganization, Donglang Township (东朗乡) was merged into Menglang Town (勐朗镇). Currently, it is part of the Donglang Area under Menglang Subdistrict (勐朗镇东朗片区), with the local government located on Donglang Road, Old Street (东朗路老街).
