Geographical Location

Renhe Town (仁和镇) is located in the southern part of Qiubei County (马关县), Yunnan Province (云南省). It borders Ma Bai Town (马白镇) and Jia Hanqing Town (夹寒箐镇) to the east, adjoins Xiao Bazi Town (小坝子镇) and Hekou County (河口县) Qiaotou Township (桥头乡) to the south, connects with Muchang Town (木厂镇) to the west, and is bordered by Dalishu Township (大栗树乡) to the north. The town government is located 19 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 191.54 square kilometers.

Cultural History

Renhe Town (仁和镇) has a long history. In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it was part of the central district of Qiubei County (马关县). In 1931, it was part of District One, and by 1934, it became part of District Two. In 1940, it was renamed Yongren Township (永仁乡). In 1950, it was part of Qiubei’s Fourth District, and in 1969, it was changed to a commune. In 1984, the commune was converted to a district, and in 1988, it was officially established as a town. The name “Renhe” (仁和) is derived from the values of kindness and harmony.
