2 Days Haba Snow Mountain Hiking Tour to Heihai Lake (Black Lake) from Lijiang

Morning Departure:

• Depart Lijiang by comfortable vehicle at 8:30 AM. The drive passes through scenic valleys, terraced fields, and traditional villages.

• Arrive at Haba Village around 11:30 AM. This village is home to a mix of Tibetan and Nakhi peoples, where you can explore local culture or enjoy a casual lunch in a village teahouse or café (self-arranged).

Afternoon Trekking:

• Transfer to Della Pasture, the official trailhead for today’s hike.

• Trek begins through rolling meadows dotted with alpine flowers and patches of dense forest. The trail gently ascends about 600 meters over approximately 6 km.

• Along the way, pass through the Misty Forest, named for the frequent fog that weaves through its tall fir trees, creating an ethereal atmosphere.

• Cross wide grass-covered hillsides, encountering the peaceful Yangfang Pasture where yaks graze lazily.

• Arrive at Lanhuaping Campsite (~3,800 m altitude), set on a high meadow with panoramic views of the glistening Haba Snow Mountain.

Evening at Camp:

• Settle into your tent or cozy wooden cabin.

• Enjoy a warming hotpot dinner at the campsite’s rustic restaurant, featuring local ingredients and Tibetan specialties.

• After dinner, relax by a fire or step outside for stargazing under clear alpine skies, where constellations shine brightly far from city lights.

Early Morning:

• Wake up to the stunning sight of Haba Snow Mountain glowing pink in the sunrise.

• Have a hearty breakfast at camp to fuel your day.

Morning Trek:

• Begin trekking at 8:30 AM through Azalea Valley, where seasonal blooms create bursts of red, pink, and purple flowers carpeting the hillsides (peak bloom: May to July).

• Pass through high-elevation wetlands—fragile ecosystems home to rare alpine plants and bird species.

• Arrive at the breathtaking Black Lake (~4,200 m), a hidden turquoise gem framed by steep rock walls and reflections of the mountain peaks.

• October visitors may be treated to spectacular red and gold hues from rowan (mountain ash) trees surrounding the lake.

Afternoon Return:

• Retrace your steps back to Lanhuaping Campsite to pack your gear.

• Descend to the trailhead by late afternoon.

• Transfer by vehicle back to Haba Village, where you can relax and reflect on your journey.

• Continue driving back to Lijiang, arriving in the early evening.
