Weimin Mosque in Luxi County, Honghe

Location: Baishui Township, Luxi County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province

Weimin Mosque, also known as Alucai Mosque, dates back to before the Xianfeng era of the Qing dynasty. It was rebuilt in the first year of the Xuantong era (1909). The mosque occupies an area of 1.2 mu (approximately 0.08 hectares), with a total building area of 400 square meters.

Scale and Architecture

The mosque covers 1.2 mu of land. The main prayer hall follows a classical Chinese architectural style, covering an area of 120 square meters. The entire mosque complex spans 400 square meters. A plaque inscribed with “道之本源” (The Source of the Tao) was erected during its reconstruction.

Community

Weimin Mosque serves around 1,400 households totaling over 700 people, all of whom are Hui Muslims. The mosque is supported by four Imams and 15 full-time religious teachers.
