Fangshan Mountain (Square Mountain) is 16 kilometers north from Yongren county seat, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Cheng-Kun Railway (Kunming to Chengdu), the roads from Kunming and Chuxiong to Panzhihua converge here. The name of Fangshan Mountain is derived from its resemblance to a square table when viewed from the distance. It covers an area of 1,500 hectares and exhibits lush vegetation and strong moisture. Local residents call it a Cool Place as the annual average temperature is only 12 degrees Celsius.
