    The "Tea of the World, Red Tea Capital" Yunnan Lincang Fengqing Red Tea Festival was grandly held in Fengqing County, attracting nearly 2,000 guests, including tea experts, scholars, and industry elites from across the country, who gathered to promote the high-quality development of the Fengqing Dianhong tea industry.

    Background of Fengqing Red Tea

    Fengqing County is located in the central area of the world’s original tea tree region, boasting vast tea gardens and rich tea resources. Tea is grown by 75,600 households across 13 towns, covering a total of 516,000 acres, including 58,300 acres of ancient tea trees. In recent years, Fengqing County has focused on constructing a green food raw material base, promoting standardized tea production. Since 2019, Fengqing has prioritized the construction of seven key systems, driving the establishment of green tea bases across the county.

    The Five-Step Strategy for the Red Tea Industry

    Since 2021, Fengqing County has implemented a "Five-Step Strategy" for the red tea industry, aimed at revitalizing the Fengqing Dianhong tea brand through consultation, alliance formation, standard-setting, industry chain integration, and market purification. The Fengqing Dianhong Tea Industry Alliance has played a central role in this process, with membership growing from 61 to 110 companies, covering 86.6% of the county’s tea farmers and managing 85.2% of the tea gardens.Dianhong Black Tea-Zhongguohong (China Red) (4)

    The two-day Red Tea Festival featured several key events, including:

    • Opening Ceremony: Showcasing the unique charm and cultural heritage of Fengqing Red Tea.
    • Global Distributors Conference: Facilitating cooperation and exchange among tea distributors domestically and internationally.
    • Tea Exhibition and Sale: Displaying Fengqing Dianhong tea and other specialty tea products.
    • "Dianhong Night" Cultural Performance: A cultural show combined with tea culture.
    • Jin Xiu Tea Ceremony: A symbolic ritual to honor tea culture and Fengqing Red Tea.
    • Dianhong Tea Mountain Tour: A visit to Fengqing’s famous tea mountains and gardens.

    Achievements of the Industry Alliance

    Over the past three years, the influence and market share of the Fengqing Dianhong tea brand have steadily increased, with the proportion of refined tea rising by 8-10% annually.
