Lijiang to Haba Snow Mountain Transportation: By Bus & Car-rental

Haba Snow mountain is as famous as the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Both of them are suitable for hiking, photographing and climbing. The Haba Snow Mountain stands by the Jinsha River, 120 km southeast of Shangri-La and 130 km to Lijiang. This page introduce you the transportation between Lijiang and Haba Snow Mountain.

How to get to Haba Snow Mountain from Lijiang?

By Bus

At Lijiang Bus Station, tourists can take a daily bus departing at 09:00 to Baishuitai(白水台) and get off at Haba Village(哈巴村). The journey will take about 6 hours. Located at the foot of the western Haba snow mountain, Haba village has become a major mountaineering center, attractive to those seeking a relatively easy 5,000-meter peak.

Alternatively, you can take the bus from Lijiang Bus Station to Hutiaoxia Town(虎跳峡镇) for two hours, and then rent a local van to take you to Haba Village. Lijiang Bus Station, locating southwest to Lijiang Old Town on the Changshui Road, is the largest and the most trustworthy public transport station in Lijiang.

By Car-rental

Rent a car to Haba Snow Mountain is more convenient since you can decide your traveling time as you like. It is suitable for a flexible and comfortable way. It is better for you to rent a car with an experienced driver and a tour guide if you are foreign travelers. If you want to have more fun on the way, renting a car is highly recommended. The driver of chartering car can stop for you to enjoy the scenery and take photos. But a shuttle bus will not stop on the way.
