It was a important town on the ancient tea and horse road. You will also enjoy the traditional Bai people’s building design. Then drive to Nanjian(6 hours), stop to visit Nanjian Tulin Tea Factory for few hours. Continue the driving to Xiangzhuqing village in Xiaowan township of Fengqing County. Pay a visit to Xiangzhuqing Acient Tea Trees. In Xiangzhuqing village, lies a massive, ancient tree. Colloquially referred to as the Mother tea tree, this magnificent giant is about 35 feet tall (which is extremely tall for a tea tree), and is so wide that it’s said that it takes eight people holding outstretched hands to full surround the tree. Besides her gargantuan size, this tree is also remarkable for its unmatched history. This ancient tree is recorded as being over 3,200 years old, it is called “the Mother of Tea Trees”.

How to Get to Dali from Kunming?

By Air

It’s not recommended to travel from Kunming to Dali by airplanes. It’s much expensive and time-wasting. Although the duration on the flight is only about 1 hour, while 3-4 hours are needed for the transfer time to and from the two airports. Located on the southeast bank of Erhai Lake, Dali airport (大理机场)is about 13 kilometers away from the city center.

At present, there are 4 daily flights between Kunming to Dali and two airport shuttles Line 1 and Line 2 going to Dali downtown areas. You can depart at Kunming Changshui International Airport(昆明长水国际机场).

Since June 29, 2018, the normal speed trains from Kunming to Dali are all closed and the high-speed trains are formally put into use, which cut the entire journey to 2 hours. There are more than 36 high-speed trains departing from Kunming South Railway Station to Dali Railway Station from the early morning hours to the late night around 06:30-21:20, with some stopping at Kunming Railway Station in the downtown.

Haideng Festival is the biggest tradition prevailing in Qingsuo Village, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan. It’s names as “Haideng” Festival because the village lies on the lakeside of Erhai, a famous lake in Dali. On lunar 15^th July each year, the Bai residences gather around Qingsuo Bridge to celebrate the festival. You will find colorful worship ornamentations hanging on the bridge. Shuanglang(双廊) is located in the northeast of Dali City and the northeast bank of Erhai Lake. It is provincial historic and cultural town in Yunnan Province and “the first town of Canghai(Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake) scenery”, as well as one of the must-see attractions in Dali. 2. Dali Airport-Shuanglang

After you are arriving at Dali airport, you can take a taxi or chartered bus driving along Erhai Lake. Shuanglang is 45 kilometers away from Dali airport, about 43 minutes. There are many taxis and chartered buses outside Dali airport.

Day 2 Shuanglang-Jiangwei-Dali

Sightseeing and Activities:Nanzhao Island and Erhai Lake, Bai ethnic villages, Shuanglang Town,Xizhou Town

After breakfast, you will enjoy the sunrise of theNanzhao Love Island and Erhai Lake, and take the boat to visit Nnazhao Island including Shayimu(a fisher girl in the legend) Statues, Acuoye Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) Statue, Nanzhao Palace, the Square of Patron Saint Culture, Taihu Lake Stones and the Big Banyan Trees.
 
Then start the cycling tour to head for Xizhou Town to visit the traditional Bai style courtyards, then taste the Three-course Tea. Drive back to Dali, Transfer to hotel, drop off and see off. Service ends.
