From Lijiang, you’ll drive about 60KM to the First Bend on the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, and the Iron Chain Bridge in Shigu Old Town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks.

Continue the driving of 40KM more to visit the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge (Shangri-La side), the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river.

Drive along the road to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge . We will choose the most wonderful part of Tiger Leaping Gorge for the hiking adventure. Start the hiking tour from 14KM Point, trek along the road to Bendiwan Village and have lunch in Half-way Guesthouse where you will have a fantastic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the balcony of the guesthouse.

Pick you up at your hotel. Drive to the foot of Cangshan Mountain called Heyang Cun (literally “Sun Crane Village”). The hike begins at the top of Heyang Village at an elevation of approximately 2000 metres. On the way, you willl pass through wild tea gardens and meet many pine trees. Go on hiking till at 12:30 pm, have a good rest and have your lunch in a pavilion. Hike to Taoxi Valley to see waterfall and rivers in the valley. Hike through meadows and many Azalea flowers to Xiaocenfeng Peak, altitude 4092m.

Then go downhill. Take our car back to Dali Old Town, service ends.

–Lijiang Old Town, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture, is a central town of the Lijiang Autonomous County of the Naxi Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province. Located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters above the sea level and embraced by the tree-covered Lion Mountain in the west, Elephant and Golden Row Mountains in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast and crystal clear water running through, the old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore got the alias the Town of Big Ink Slab (Dayanzhen).

Day 2 Lijiang

After lunch, you will enjoy the Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show directed by Zhang Yimou. It is held in Ganhazi Meadow about 3100M above the sea level.

Early in the morning, guide will pick up you from hotel. Then you willtransfer to visit Tiger Leaping Gorge via Qiaotou Town ( 2.5hrs) along the Yunnan- Tibet Road. Take a stop on the way, have a bird view of the First Bend of the Yangtze River, a world-famous geological phenomenon of a V-shape bend and an extraordinary panoramic scene whose vistas you will long remember with great pleasure.
After arrival at the tickets office of Qiaotou Town, you will start the 2 hours trekking up to Naxi Family Guesthouse by the high trail. Take a break to have lunch at the beautiful guesthouse. Afterward,continue to the trekking (3-4hrs) from Naxi Family G.H. to Tea horse Guesthouse via 28 zigzagging turns. The trekking of this section is a challenge for you as the trail is difficult however once you have seen the splendid view view from an altitude about 3000m, you will know that is worthy. Then you will arrive at the sleep place of tonight –Tea horse Guesthouse. Have dinner and accommodation at here.

Day 4 Tea horse Guesthouse – Halfway Guesthouse- Haba Village-Baishuitai

After breakfast,continue the trekking to Halfway Guesthouse ( 1.5-2hrs ) by a flat walk. Enjoy the most beautiful view section of the high train. Take a short break at Halfway G.H. Later process another 2 hours trekking to arrive at Tina’s Guesthouse. You will see several waterfall on the trail and view of the middle gorge with switchbacks of the Low Road. There is a small climb leading you to a ridge at 2480m. Then the trail descends gradually to Tina’s Guesthouse. Have lunch at Tina’s G.H.
After lunch, transfer toWhite Water Terraces (2.5hrs ), upon arrival , take a tour of White Water Terrace. After tour, check in your hotel.

The variegated karst landform of the tableland is an outcome of the continuous piling up of Tosco (calcite sediments), resulting from the disintegration of calcium bicarbonate contained in the water.
Upon arrival, check in your guesthouse. Overnight at local guesthouse of Niru.

Day 6 Niru Village–Nanbo Pasture(4100m) –Dingru Lake

This morning you will clime up to visit Songzanlin Monastery, or ‘Little Potala’ as it is affectionately known, is a spiritual place that invites you to discover the mystery and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Since the 5th Dalai Lama chose the site through divination in 1679, the monastery has grown into the most important community of its kind in Yunnan.
Then you will make a visiting a local Tibetan Family to charting with the local people to know about their local life and at try to drink a cup of Yak Butter Tea. Enjoy the rest time of the day in Dukezong Old Town where you can see a big pray wheel about 10 meters high and the local house. In the evening, people will gather at here to dance Guochuang Tibetan dancing. During Yifeng, Tiaolu periods of the Tang Dynasty, Tubo government established a stockade village here, named “Dukezhong” meaning City of Moonlight, in addition, another stockaded village called “Likezhong” meaning City of Sunlight was built at the edge of opposite Naizi River.

Day 1 Shangri-La – Diji Pasture

In the morning, drive for one hour to Shudu Lake situated at an altitude of 3,600 meters. This mirror-like alpine lake is known as the Pearl on the Plateau. Starting hiking across the forest beside the lake and it takes about an hour to reach Cuopu Pasture. Cross the Cuopu Mountain in the virgin forest and it takes around 2.5 hours to reach the vast and classic Diji Pasture, located in the Tibetan area with an altitude of 3800 meters. Walk along the clear Niru River in the virgin forest and you will reach Qicai Waterfall (3150 meters). Hike for another 3 hours to reach Niru Village. Hike 4 to 5 hours from Hongxing Village to Luoji Village (2220 meters). located 16km away. From Luoji Village, take a bus for about 2.5 hours ride back to Shangri-La located 87km away.

After a rest in Shangri-La, it is recommended to take a bus to the Tiansheng Bridge Hot Spring Resort located on the east of Shangri-la 10km away. The Tiansheng Bridge is a natural bridge made of limestone on the upper stream of Shudugang River. The hot springs and bridges are the main characteristic of the resort and there are many of the former within the 2000 square meters of the resort. Temperature of the hot springs ranges from 40℃ to 50℃. Staying overnight at the hotel, where one can view the green mountains and river.

Nizu (also spelled Niru) has a lot to offer and it’s hard to take it all in. However, this trip makes the best attempt possible. First, we enjoy the drive from Shangri-la to Nizu that passes by Pudacuo national park, over a 3900 m (12,800 ft) mountain pass, and down the winding road through Tibetan and Yi villages down to Luoji Township. From there, the road continues up a secluded valley and passes by villages of many different minorities and eventually into the Tibetan village of Nizu.

Day 2 Niru Village – Nanbao Pasture

Tour Route: Shaxi – Mapingguan – Mijing (沙溪 – 马坪关 – 弥井村)

Transfer along the bumpy road from Shaxi Ancient town to Mapingguan Village, visit Mapingguan and take a short break there, hike from Mapingguan Village to Mijing Village via a mountain pass and some dense forest and valleys.
Arrive in Mijing Village, visit the vilalge and Misha River. Transfer back to Shaxi Ancient Town in the late afternoon.

This trail has experienced higher levels of foot traffic in recent years, due to renewed interest in the Tea and Horse Road and Shaxi’s emergence as an increasingly popular tourist attraction.

South of Shaxi, this trail leads west through scrubby pine forest, and offers fabulous views of the Shaxi valley. Look down and you might see some cobblestones from the old caravan trail, which has fallen into a state of disrepair.

After several hours, you will reach Mapingguan, a tiny village nestled in the forest, where it is possible to stay and eat. From here, the trail continues in the same direction, finishing south of Misha town along the Misha River.

If you’re a lover of tea and have a passion for outdoor travel, to explore the source of Tea&Horse Roads, experience Xishuangbanna Puer tea culture and folk customs there can be good choices. Day 1 Arrive in Baoshan

Fly to Baoshan. The local tour guide will meet you in the airport and drive to hotel for checking in.

Baoshan is located in the southwest of Yunnan, bordering Burma to the northwest and south. Benefited from the long boundary line of 167.78 kilometers, the South Silk Route, Yunnan-Burma Road and Stilwell Road cross this land. Known as the famous hometown of overseas Chinese, there are 289,000 overseas Chinese from Baoshan.

Day 2 Baoshan-Baihualing

Drive to Baihualing. Start hiking from a primeval forest, pant the way to the outlet of the forest and went over some valleys. Finally, Reach the Big Waterfall where there is a natural hot spring. Move forward to the Big Waterfall, catching terrific natural sight along the way. Then return to the parking lot.

Stay overnight in Baihualing.

The forest is a tropical rainforest with the maximum elevation and latitude. The species of plant are various. The lofty trees with big roots can be found everywhere. The climbing plants grow wildly and attach to the branches of the trees. The reserve is also abundant with herbaceous plant and the old-growth fern. I felt like I was got back to Jurassic period.

Day 3 Baihualing – Linjiapuzi(22km, about 10-12 hours)

Get up at 6:00 and get things ready and prepare to hike before 7:00. Today is a miserable day as well as a funny day. We will take the spiritual and physical challenge. Wind the way up to Ertai Slope from Jiujie. It’s not a completely ascending route. After climbing up a while, take it easy on the downward slope, go through Dafengbao, Gangfang, Huangzhu River and reached Yongding Bridge. After the bridge, the elevation has an obvious increase and it would snow in Winter above 2800m. Therefore, the route is more challenging. But the picturesque scenery with azure sky, floating cloud, luxuriantly green jungle and dodging animals will ease your pain and tire. After replenishing some food and had a short break, continue your journey. Go over a mountain ridge. Later quickly get out of the pass with strong wind and move westwards along the path in the forest. After 3-hour descending journey, we will get to Linjiapuzi in Tengchong.

Day 4 Linjiapuzi – Heshun Town

Drive to visit Heshun Old Town.

Heshun Old Town is located in 4 kilometers southwest of Tengchong County. ‘Heshun’ meas peaceful and great life of Heshun people. With a population of more than 6000, the overseas Heshun people total more than 12000 hence the frame ‘ The Home of Overseas Chinese’. Enjoying long history and civilization of more than 600 years, there is around 1000 traditional folk residences in Heshun, 100 of which is built in Qing Dynasty, known as the ‘Living Fossil of Chinese Ancient Architecture’. You can not only appreciate the romantic charm of Hui-style architecture but also find out some western elements in Heshun Old Town. The Chinese and Western style mix together and show a unique charm.

Day 5 Depart from Tengchong

Travel Tips:

Since it’s a long journey and challenging, it’s suggested to prepare high-energy food, a bottle of water, a walking stick, fleece Jackets, a kneecap, a head lamp, and do not push yourself to limits.
Hikers should make a reasonable daily plan according to their physical strength. Usually, you should walk 4-5 km per hour and have a rest under a tree or pavilion for 15 minutes.
Apart from the necessities, try to shrink your bag. Don’t forget to wear a sunhat and take with a bottle of water in case of sunstroke.
It’s suggested to hike with others and take care each other as Gaoligongshan Reserve is undeveloped with vast wild animals.

Located deep in western Yunnan Province, Bingzhongluo is regarded as “a heaven of peace.” It has the most gorgeous natural sceneries in the Nujiang region. Jiaozi Snow Mountain, as the First Mountain in the middle of Yunnan, is situated on the border of Luquan County and Dongchuan District of Kunming City, the main peak is 4,223 meters above the sea level. Jiaozi Mountain looks green in the spring, blue in the summer, golden in the fall and silver in the winter. In the spring and summer, countless Indian azaleas blossom out just like sea, the color of mountain meadows becomes gorgeous; when the winter comes, the mountain is covered with snow.
