Three Days Dulongjiang River Travel Guide

Dulongjiang River, also known as the Dulong River, is a significant waterway flowing through the mountainous region of southwestern China, particularly in Yunnan Province. It originates from the glaciers of the Dandanglika Mountains on the border between China and Myanmar, running through rugged terrain and deep gorges before eventually joining the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar.

Day 1: Gongshan County → Heiwadi Service Station → Dimopa Scenic Platform → Shenshuzhuang Scenic Platform → Zhenuo Mixed Forest Scenic Platform → Dieshuiya Scenic Platform → Dulong River Ethnic Town (Accommodation Available)

The Shenshuzhuang Scenic Platform mainly symbolizes the significance of a century-old tree stump and the beautiful landscape of mist and fog in this area. Especially in this season, clouds and mist slowly rise from the valley bottom, gather among the mountains, and surround the old tree stumps, creating a fairyland-like atmosphere.

Kongdang Ethnic Tourism Town: Kongdang Tourism Town incorporates vibrant Dulong ethnic elements with colorful decorations and walls. Sixty old buildings that were once drab have been uniformly transformed into Dulong ethnic-style architecture. With the addition of tourism infrastructure such as the Kaqie Wa Ethnic Square, totem poles, parking lots, and tourist leisure pavilions, this rejuvenated border town is adding eye-catching cultural significance to the beautiful Dulong River landscape.

Day 2: Dulong River Ethnic Town → Xianjiudang Village → Yunv Waterfall Scenic Platform → Longyuan Food and Cultural Experience Village → Dizhengdang Cultural Experience Village → Xiongdang Tourist Specialty Village → Confluence of Two Rivers.

Longyuan Village: Longyuan is a village north of the Dulong River, 26 kilometers from Kongdang Village. In 2014, the government built the Muleng House with ethnic characteristics for the villagers. At the same time, Longyuan Village has the highest concentration of women with facial tattoos, with four such women. If you want to visit women with facial tattoos, you might as well visit Longyuan Village.

Day 3: Dulong River Ethnic Town → Pukawang → Daomaoyehou Scenic Platform → Bapogongshe → Bapo Red Education Base → Hongxingqiao Scenic Platform → Qinlangdang Ethnic Cultural Village → Hapo Waterfall

Pukawang: Pukawang Village is the most primitive Dulong ethnic tribe. “The border area, the people of the extreme border” Pukawang Ethnic Cultural Experience Tourism Village still retains primitive customs, production and lifestyle, and the most primitive architectural style. At an altitude of 1478 meters, with an average annual temperature of 17.5°C and annual precipitation of 3308 millimeters.

Hapo Waterfall: Hapo (Moon) Waterfall, located in Dulongjiang Township, Gongshan County, Yunnan Province, 30 kilometers from Bapo Village, is called “Habai Ching” in Dulong language, meaning “water falling from the moon”. Hapo Wang River drops suddenly from 3100 meters to 1400 meters and flows into the Dulong River gorge, forming a waterfall 200 meters high and 20 meters wide.
