• Trek to the Base Camp of Haba Snow Mountain
  • Set out on a challenging trek of approximately 15 kilometers to reach the Base Camp of Haba Snow Mountain located at an elevation of 4200 meters.
  • This journey will take around 7 hours, during which yaks will carry your luggage, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to savor a picnic lunch surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Haba Snow Mountain. Remember to pack only water, clothing, and essential snacks, as the remaining gear will be transported by horses to the Base Camp.
• Base Camp and Trail Conditions
  • Altitude measurements for the Base Camp can vary, but it is typically around 4100 meters.
  • Given this elevation, expect a long day ahead, and be prepared for potentially muddy trails. It is highly recommended to wear sturdy waterproof boots. The hike itself will take around 4 to 6 hours and primarily winds through the stunning Yunnan forest, with three picturesque meadows along the route.
  • On this day, you will ascend 1500 meters, reaching the Base Camp in the afternoon.
  • Due to the high altitude, it’s common for travelers to experience varying degrees of altitude sickness. Be mindful of your body’s responses and take the necessary steps to acclimatize. If you begin to feel unwell, please inform your guide for support.
• Note: It is not allowed to sleep before 9:00 PM.

• Early Start for the Haba Mountain Summit
  • Rise early at 3:00 AM to prepare your gear and enjoy a light breakfast. Before setting off for the summit at 4:00 AM, take a moment to assess your health.
  • You will leave the majority of your luggage at Camp 1, bringing only the essential mountaineering tools, including a rope, ice axe, ice pick, climbing bag, solid snacks, a warm pot of water, clothing, a headlamp, and your climbing equipment for the ascent to the summit of Haba Mountain.
• Climbing to the Summit
  • Your target is to ascend approximately 4 kilometers to the peak of Haba Snow Mountain, which stands at an impressive 5396 meters.
  • This journey will take about 5 hours and will involve traversing an icy trail from Camp 1 to the summit, with an altitude gain of 500 meters. Typically, this section of the climb takes around 3 hours. Take the time to marvel at the stunning vistas, including views of Haba Snow Mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the Yangtze River flowing in between. Don’t forget to capture these moments with photographs as souvenirs.
  • After enjoying a picnic lunch, begin your descent back to Camp 1 to retrieve your luggage. Then, continue your trek down to the Base Camp before making your way back to Haba Village.
