Historical Development
The founding date of Yanqichang Mosque (晏旗厂清真寺) is not documented. In 1872 (the 11th year of the Tongzhi reign), the mosque was occupied and rendered unusable. In 1911, a new site was selected, and the mosque was rebuilt. The main prayer hall was constructed in a double-eaved Jingshan-style (敬山式). It was expanded in 1980, bringing the building area to 860 square meters. A new minaret was constructed in 1994.
Architecture and Scale
The mosque occupies 4 mu of land with a total building area of 2,040 square meters. There are 15 wooden wing rooms on both sides, serving as classrooms and dormitories for imams (阿訇) and mullahs (满拉). The layout is neat and symmetrical. The minaret is a rectangular pavilion-style structure with seven bays, covering an area of 280 square meters.
Religious Activities and Community
There are more than 30 imams in the village, 5 Hajjis (哈吉), 1 Arabic-language school, and 20 mullahs. The population is mixed Hui and Han, with 96 Hui households totaling over 50 people. All local Muslims belong to the Qadim (格迪目) tradition.
