Luoping County is well-known for its rape flower scenery. In the county, rape flowers that cover 800,000 mu (53,333 hectares) are planted there. From February to April every year, rape flower ushers in its blooming season in Luoping.

Rape flower is estimated to bloom successively during the Chinese Spring Festival. The best time to admire the flower sea of rape flower will be around the Latern Festival.

Luoping County held the first Rape Flower Cultural Tourism Festival in 1999. The county received 350, 000 visitors and achieved revenues from tourism close to 50 million yuan in that year. After years of operation, the festival has become a festival that enjoys a high reputation around the world.

Last year, Luoping County received 1.6 million visitors both from domestic and overseas markets, and gained revenues from tourism close to 1.477 billion yuan.
