  • From Feilai Temple to Yagong Village
    • You’ll embark on our adventure by taking a 2-hour drive from Fēilái Temple, which will bring us to the starting point of our trek, Yagong Village.
    • Situated above the Lancang River and nestled near the northern slope of Meili Snow Mountain, this picturesque village marks the beginning of our journey.
  • Packing and Setting Off
    • With your big luggage safely entrusted to our porters, you’ll set off with our small backpacks, ready to tackle the trail ahead.
  • The Trek Begins
    • You’ll follow a gentle mountain road, which will lead us to a river crossing. After that, we’ll start our ascent, walking through the original forest and bamboo grove.
    • The breathtaking views of Meili Snow Mountain will slowly come into view as we make our way through the lush landscape.
  • Arrival at Zhangjia Camp
    • Your 4-hour trek will culminate at Zhangjia Camp, where you’ll cross a wooden bridge and navigate a rocky slope before reaching our destination.
    • With today’s route being relatively easy and suitable for acclimatization, you’re well-prepared to take on the adventure ahead.

    • If the weather is good, you can watch the sun rise over Meili Snow Mountain from Feilai Temple.
    • In Yagong Village, you can see the Lion Snow Mountain, which is named after its resemblance to a lion’s head when viewed from this angle.
    • Before reaching the campsite, we can see the distant Nairi Topka and Mangkua Lake  in the forest.

Day 3: Zhangjia Camp – Pojun Camp (4 hours, 11km, 600m elevation gain)

  • A Journey to the Snow-Capped Mountains
    • You start your adventure early in the morning, following the river as we make our way towards the snow-capped mountains.
    • Your first stop is a vast bamboo grove, where we’ll pass through the lush vegetation before continuing on.
  • Encountering Majestic Peaks
    • As we trek through the forest, you’ll cross over rocky terrain and come face-to-face with the awe-inspiring MangkuaLaka peak.
    • This majestic sight will leave us breathless and eager to continue your journey.
  • A Brief Stop
    • Then you will then pass an old cow shed and cross a wooden bridge, before being greeted by Nairi Topka and its breathtaking glaciers.
  • Arrival at Pojun Camp
    • Continuing our ascent, you’ll soon reach the picturesque Pojun Camp, where you’ll take a moment to rest and recharge for the next leg of our journey.
