How to Get to Mangshi City from Dali City

Located in the west of Yunnan and the southeast of Dehong prefecture, Mangshi(芒市) is the capital of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. It is more than 300 kilometers from Dali City. There are Dehong Mangshi Airport and bus stations in Mangshi, transportation is convenient.

How to Get to Mangshi City from Dali City

There is no railway station in Mangshi, you have two ways to get to Mangshi, long-distance bus and airplane.

1. Long-distance Bus

Dali City has two main bus stations connecting Mangshi of Dehong Prefecture: Dali Ancient City Passenger Coach Station(大理古城客运站) and Dali Express Bus Station. Tourists can take the long-distance bus from Dali and the journey will take about 5 hours, costs 142 yuan.

2. By Air

Dali Airport and Dehong Mangshi Airport are two important airports in Yunnan Province. There are no direct flights from Dali to Mangshi, you are supposed to transfer in Kunming or Chongqing, which takes more time and spend more money. Therefore, if you want to take plane, going to Lijiang first and taking the direct flight from Lijiang to Mangshi is recommended. The transportation from Dali to lijiang is very convenient, there are special lines from Dali City to Lijiang Sanyi Airport.

In Lijiang, you can enjoy the charm of Lijiang Ancient Town, Naxi Custom and Tiger Leaping Gorge.
