Naka Village

Naka village(那卡村) is attached to is attached to Manlv(曼吕) village committee of Mengsong(勐宋) township, it belongs to the mountainous area. Naka lies in the east of HuazhuLiangzi mountain(滑竹梁子山), Naka covers an area 9.69 square kilometers, with an altitude of 1,662 meters, and great ecological environment, suitable for planting tea and other crops. Naka stockade has known for the ancient tree tea with high-quality. The whole stockade has more than 600 acres of ancient tree tea garden, with the age of tea tree between 300 and 500 years.

Naka ( or Laka(腊卡)), is a stockade of the Lahu, with an altitude about 1700 meters, is a mountainous area, located on the border between Mengsong township and Mengwang(勐往) township, lies in the northwest of Mengsong township, a natural village under the public administration of Manlv( or called Da Manlv(大曼吕)) village, about 5 kilometers away from the Da Manlv Basin(大曼吕盆地). In Qing Dynasty, Naka tea was well known, and paid tribute to “车里宣尉府” every year. According to the historical recorder, the Burma’s king assigned the bamboo tube tea that produced by Naka as a tribute, it reflects that Naka tea has fine quantity and great reputation.

Naka, is the translation of the Lahu, also written as 娜卡、腊卡、纳卡, the hill name of Pu’er tea region, Naka ancient tree tea is produced by the tea tree that grow more than 100 years in the natural environment on this mountain. "Wine on winery, Pu’er on hill.(红酒论酒庄,普洱讲山头。)"means that Yunnan(云南) tea has different taste due to different geographical environment, the name of mountain has been used to defined the specific taste of Pu’er(普洱) tea since the Ancient Tea-Horse Road(茶马古道). Naka is Yunnan Pu’er tea produced by a Lahu’s stockade in Manlv(曼吕) village committee of Mengsong(勐宋) tea region, Menghai(勐海) county, XishuangBanna(西双版纳).

Naka ancient tea garden mainly distributed on the hillside behind this village, the forest environment is still fine although a few damaged. The ancient tee tree with an area over 600 acres, larger density, grow like trees(乔木), almost high over 2 meters and trunk diameter over 10cm. In the ancient tee garden, large leaf and small leaf species grow together and the small leaf is in a proportion. The soil is mainly yellow sand.
