Yongshan County History

According to  historical material, Yongshan(永善)  was the territory of  Liangzhou prefecture(梁州) in Xia dynasty, and belonged to  the southwest barbarians in Qin dynasty. In Han dynasty, it was under the command of Shushi county(朱提县),Qianwei prefecture(犍为郡). Later, in Tang dynasty, it was one of Cuan people’s tribe , in Song dynasty, it was subordinate to Wumeng tribe, which was reset as Wumeng Road in Yuan dynasty. Wumeng Road was the territory of Sichuan province in Ming dynasty. Then, in the next period-Qing dynasty, the governor of Yunnan province calmed Wumeng down. In 1731, Yongshan county was established.  Since the liberation in 1950, Yongshan county was under the command of Zhaotong city.
