Day 1: Lanping (Nujiang) to Tiger Leaping Gorge
Our journey began in Lanping, a small town located in Nujiang Autonomous Prefecture. We woke up early in the morning and headed to the Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is known for its stunning scenery and challenging hiking trails. The gorge is named after a legend that a tiger once leaped across the river to escape from hunters.
We started our hike at the upper reaches of the Tiger Leaping Gorge and made our way down the steep slopes. The views were breathtaking, and we couldn’t help but stop to take pictures every few minutes. The river below was raging, and we could hear the roar of the water as we made our way down the trail.
After a few hours of hiking, we reached the bottom of the gorge and stopped for a picnic lunch. We then continued on to our accommodations for the night, a small guesthouse in a nearby village.
Day 2: Tiger Leaping Gorge to Lijiang
The next day, we woke up early and continued our hike along the Three Parallel Rivers. We passed through lush forests and across rocky cliffs as we made our way towards Lijiang.
As we approached Lijiang, we could see the ancient city walls and the stunning Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. We stopped for a while to take in the view and then continued on to our accommodations for the night.
Day 3: Lijiang Laojun Mountain National Park
Our final day was spent exploring the Lijiang Laojun Mountain National Park. The park is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in China, including towering mountains, pristine lakes, and lush forests.
We started our day by taking a cable car up to the summit of Laojun Mountain. From there, we had stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We then made our way down the mountain and stopped at a few of the park’s scenic spots along the way.
Our hike finally came to an end as we reached the bottom of the mountain and made our way back to Lijiang. We spent our last night in China enjoying the city’s vibrant culture and delicious food.

Day 1: Arrival in Xishuangbanna
Our journey began with a flight to Xishuangbanna, a tropical rainforest region located in the southern part of Yunnan Province. We arrived in the early morning and checked into our accommodations at a local hotel.
After a quick rest, we set out to explore the city of Xishuangbanna and its surrounding areas. We visited the local market, where we saw a variety of fresh produce and local souvenirs. We also stopped by the Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve to learn more about the region’s unique ecosystem.
Day 2: Hiking to Mandian Waterfall
The next day, we woke up early and headed out for our hike to Mandian Waterfall. The hike started with a steep climb up a mountain, but the views from the top were well worth the effort. We could see for miles and miles, with lush rainforests and rolling hills stretching out in every direction.
After about an hour of hiking, we reached the bottom of Mandian Waterfall. The waterfall was stunning, with a cascading stream of water that plummeted down the rocks. We spent some time exploring the area and taking pictures before making our way back to our accommodations.
Day 3: Xishuangbanna to Jinghong
Our final day in Xishuangbanna was spent exploring the city of Jinghong. We started by visiting the local museum, which offered insight into the region’s history and culture. We also stopped by the Chinese Tea Museum, where we learned about the region’s famous tea industry.
In the afternoon, we took a boat trip on the Lancang River, which runs through the heart of Xishuangbanna. The river was calm and peaceful, and we saw a variety of wildlife along the way, including monkeys and exotic birds.
Day 4: Departure from Xishuangbanna
Our journey in Xishuangbanna came to an end as we boarded our flight back home. We left the region with memories of stunning landscapes, friendly locals, and delicious food.
