Yunnan’s climate varies significantly by region, so pack layered clothing for both warm daytime temperatures and cooler nights.

Comfortable walking shoes are essential for village visits, boat rides, and climbing Qinglong Mountain. Puzhehei and Bamei areas may be humid, especially in summer, so carry mosquito repellent and light rain gear.

Sun protection is important—bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to guard against strong UV rays.

During the summer lotus season, crowds may be larger, so follow the guide’s arrangements for smooth travel.

When entering and exiting Bamei Village by boat, be mindful of footing inside the caves, as the ground may be damp or slippery.

Respect local customs when visiting Yi and Zhuang ethnic villages.

Ask before taking photos of local residents, and avoid entering private homes without permission.

Internet and mobile signals in remote villages may be weak—prepare accordingly.
