Yongshan County

Yongshan County (永善县), located in Zhaotong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, is a picturesque region in northeastern Yunnan. Situated 680 kilometers southwest of Kunming, the provincial capital, and 200 kilometers south of Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong City, it is nestled on the northwestern edge of the Zhongshan Mountain. One of its defining features is its proximity to the Xiluodu Hydropower Station, which is the second-largest hydropower station in China and the third-largest in the world, with a total installed capacity of 12.6 million kilowatts.

Highlights of Yongshan County include its traditional ethnic villages, such as Yimagou Village in Daxing Town and Danyi Village in Wuji Town, where visitors can experience the rich ethnic culture of the region. Additionally, the Xiluodu Hydropower Station and its associated dam are notable landmarks.
