Situated in the west boundary area of Yunnan Province, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture neighbors Baoshan City to the east and northeast, and shares a boundary of 504 kilometers with Burma in the south, west and northwest. It's about 550 km from the provincial capital Kunming and can be accessible by flight and coach.

How to Get to Dehong from Kunming?

By Plane

Mangshi Airport is 6.5 kilometers away from the city proper of Mangshi. It is 649 kilometers away from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, and the flights from Kunming to Mangshi take you about 75 minutes. Tourists to Dehong Region will have to reach Mangshi City first and then transfer to Wandin, Ruili, Yingjiang and so on.

By Coach

Traveling to Dehong by car, tourists will have to travel 733 kilometers from Kunming to Mangshi and 827 kilometers from Kunming to Ruili. Sleeping buses and high speed buses set out from Kunming are available every day. It's eight hours' drive from Mangshi and another two hours are needed to Ruili. Some more hours are needed for sleeping buses. From Kunming West Bus Station, the long-distance buses running to Mangshi depart at 09:00, 11:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 and to Ruili departs at 09:00, 11:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00.
